Ipoh, then Penang, then Ipoh again

blogging from one of the hottest states in malaysia; Ipoh, Perak. SWEATING LIKE SIAO. But the ice cold tau fu fah is DA BOMB la. ;D

Just got back from Penang late last night. Gonna be spending today & tomorrow here in Ipoh. Its super humid here & it was crazy cloudy back in penang. Super drastic change in weather & temperature maaan. ;_;

ANYWAYSSS, penang was fun. The food was teh awesome. The ”bak kopi peng”(iced white coffee) was super gooooood & the laksa, omg the laksa was AMAZIIIIING. Visited a number of places.. the botanical garden, penang hill, etc etc.

The cafe on top of penang hill was SUPER AWESOME. It was located on a hill ON TOP of penang hill, so it was really nice & cool. Everything in there was vintage & englishey. I even made friends with a caterpillar & I named it Cat. Oh yeah, Creativity’s my middle name. ;D

So the cafe was really pretty & vintage. Its insides & outs were all englishey. <3 EVEN THE TOILET BOWLS WERE VINTAGE.

okey, so enough with the cafe.. the place was pretty sweet. Mum even managed to visit her penang couz who owns 2 sports cars! o_o She was nice.

So mum was pretty happy she got to meet up with her couz after not seeing each other for about 20 years? So yeah. And after that we went to have dinner together & then we went back to the hotel & then to the beach. You could barely see anything but you could hear the waves. It was really nice.

Anyway yeah, overall the trip was a fun one.

Thank You for giving me this opportunity to spend such an amazing time with my family & giving us journey mercy. I owe You Dad.

Mid Term Break

 

Mid terms are over & I thank Him for having been there by my side throughout the entire exam period. I am forever amazed by You. Thank You.

& so now, the mid term break begins. God guide me & help me make this term break a super duper productive one.

Trip to Broga

10th Sept 10′

Thank you God for the safe journey & the awesome time I had with my family.

THE WHETHER, THE ROADS, THE CAR… EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB. It wasn’t sunny, nor gloomy, it was perfect.

& I MADE PALS WITH A PONY!!! <3

It was roaming around freely in that patting zoo place/thingy. But I don’t think the people incharge took very good care of the animals. D: Some looked rather sickly & some just looked so dirty, you’d think they’d never been taken care of (or showered for) since birth. D: But I fed this cute li’l half-grown pony. Its tongue was ticklish & its saliva was sticky(once it dried ^^;;) AND THEN, WE BECAME BEST OF PALS.

It actually followed me around. DD & the pony keeper person (PKP xD) kept grinning. xD

My sister even hitched a ride on the pony & half way along the “pony trail” it stopped….. AND POO-ED. xDDD

And the PKP guy was like… “berak”…. and my sister was like.. still on top of the pony. xD IT WAS HILARIOUS.

We even fed dears, monkeys, turtles, rabbits etc etc. And there were approximately MORE than 200 rabbits there. After all, that place was called “Rabbit Fun Land”. =w= And the restaurant next to it, served rabbit meat DD

COOKED IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS. OH YEEEAH~

There was satay style, grilled, fried, fried with fried rice, curry style, THAI STYLE, & the list goes on….

After the patting zoo place however, we scouted around for other restaurants. And we passed by many of those “kampung houses” and you could see all the malay relatives back at their home town for Raya. It was packed. But the Raya spirit was much more alive there than it is here, in the city. Dad kept coming up with ideas to randomly walk in and pretend like we knew the owner of the house just so we could eat free rendang. xD

But anyways, after lunch, we went to this organic vegetable farm & we managed to get really nice vege for our steamboat tomorrow. DD You can actually harvest the vegetables yourself. It was pretty fun. It was my first time harvesting my own vege.

Not only that, you had to cross a few bridges too, cos there were rivers running along the farm.. AND THOSE BRIDGES WERE SCARY. My dad had to walk back all the away to my side just so I would walk across. xD BUT HE JUMPED WHILE WE WERE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT!! I COULD’VE DIED.

But it was great fun, it was like a family road trip. Away from civilization & everything. It felt good to be in an area where internet and astro didn’t really exist, and the things there were much MUCH more cheaper.

So yeah, one of the best trips so far.

And do forgive me for the pictures, my camera’s currently goin through a minor op. so we were stuck with my dad’s phone camera. But the pictures turned out better than expected. ;D

And my dad was the photographer for the day, so he’s barely in the pics. ): But I couldn’t resist, so I handled the “camera” half way through the trip.

its the FIRST day of CNY, (happy cny by the way @_@), and GOSH ITS HUMID. T____T

But yeah, i managed to collect up to about 30 cans already. (for the Go Green Campaign)

And surprisingly, me mum’s relatives (which are also mine xD) are really supportive. We spent almost an hour talking about recycling stuff. xD And one of them actually helped me walk around the whole house collecting all the empty cans.

Okey, yes.. this IS a lame post… but I just had to do it. Or my blog would’ve been as good as dead. >.>

#4th Day of Conference

(17th Dec 09) Which was a Thursday. 8D

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, we went gotong-royonging at USJ 4…i think. Can’t really re-call the exact address, or whether or not it was the right place. xD It was a housing area at Subang though. And we all broke into a few teams and took about four roads each to clean up. We had to pick up rubbish… LOTS of it. And Alex’s group which happens to be the group i was in.. had to walk an awfully large distance. ToT And we picked up rubbish along the way. Alex barely picked up anything. xP He just “supervised“

But it was fun, we got to experience what the Alam Flora people experienced. And trust me, their jobs are tougher than any other job i’ve ever seen. And all the rubbish people throw around and litter just pisses me off. Maybe cos I had to pick it all up. xD I mean, I barely pick up after myself (SHHHH).. so.. yea. But at least we managed to create a cleaner and prettier looking environment for Subang.

We even tore down advertisements people stuck on street lamps and other illegal places. And thankfully for me, I had my nails, or else it would’ve hurt. TwT As for advertisements that were like SERIOUSLY hard to take off, we just used spray paint to spray over them. xD And sorry to all those Loan Sharks, plumbing business, food catering etc etc people. Just doing whats right for the community. xDD

& at the end of the day, I learned a pretty valuable lesson- Never take the Alam Flora people for granted, EVER.

… AND…. never EVER litter EVER again.

#3rd Day of “Campference”

3rd day… which was a Wednesday, we helped out with Voters’ Registration at Subang Parade. And we got chased out by the security guards. T_T We were SUPPOSED to help out from about 1.oo? to 6 something. But our time got cut short, thanks to the guards who had nothing else better to do. == But yea, there was probably some miscommunication, that the guards had no idea we were supposed to be there.

Anyway, our trip got cut short to about 2 hours. D8 But me, suwen and kaylee managed to get ONE person to register. ITS HARDER THAN YOU THINK K?! Some either wouldn’t understand what we were saying, or ALREADY registered, OR ISNT LOCAL, or ARE UNDERAGE. T_T

But yeah, we were…. no wait… I felt really discouraged when people actually turned us away or either just shoved their hands in front of our faces and said no. THE COULD AT LEAST SMILE AND SAY NO, POLITELY! But yea well, James(our games commandant) and Aaron said, things like that would happen. I mean, how many times do we actually go to malls and take brochures and whatever stuff that people hand out and keep it? Most of the time, we’d just ignore them and walk away.

THATS WHY, NOW… i have decided to take every single brochure that gets shoved at my face, cos now that I know how it feels to get turned down….yea.. xD And as for the things that people sell, i might have to think twice for that. ^^;;

Anywayz, James encouraged us to pray before approaching someone and we did, but it still wasnt successful at first, BUT IN THE END, we got ONE person so register! And just because you think ONE person isnt much, he/she could’ve made a difference.

But yea, i’ve learned quite a lot through these experiences… like…. like how those people who go to coffee shops and stuff to sell pirated cd’s, stationery and etc.. they lead pretty hard lives, especially when they work day and night walking to coffee shops all over that certain area and most of the time get turned down by people, and not have proper food to eat. Its pretty nerve wrecking if you asked me. D8 THATS WHY, i learned to APPRECIATE the things I have a little bit better now, and NOT complain so much. Cos lots of people in the world suffer from lack of food, shelter, clean water and what not, and we’re here complaining about all the things that we HAVE and have been blessed with.

So yea, from today on, I shall appreciate EVERY SINGLE THING I have/own and be happy with ALL of it.

#2nd Day of “Campference”

On the 2nd day, we went to MPH, Midvalley. We went to help promote Alicia Loh’s FIRST EVER published book; The Last Chapter. Most of us bought it cos all the proceedings would go to her (Alicia) for her medical treatments and stuff. And if you don’t already know, the illness she’s currently going through is called SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY TYPE 2. We had to memorize the name in case someone asked us about it. But i dont really know what happens to the person with this kind of disease. )=

And quite frankly, I honestly REALLY do respect her, cos for someone being in her condition… she’s still able to write a book, and STILL has hope to publish it (which she already has). Unlike some of us, who complain about everything and ANYTHING we can complain about. And i think I learned quite a lot from Alicia. Like how she’s so hopeful about life, and how she barely complains about what she’s going through and stuff like that. unlike ME, i complain about pretty much everything. D8 Thighs xD, friends (oh c’mon, you KNOW we gossip a lot.) and pretty much everything else you can think of. THEREFORE, I have decided  NOT gossip about friends. At least i’ll TRY as hard as i can.

So if anyone calls me weird or anything like that, JUST COS I don’t gossip or whatever… sorry la. xD That’s your problem.

And also through this conference I spent almost the whole day at church, and now church is like a 2nd home to me. And me and suwen got mistaken for sisters, TWICE…. ToT But frankly, it really DOES feel like she’s my sister cos we spent the whole week at church together. It was pretty awesome. =D

And we learned a new song. Its a pretty nice song.

mmm, what else.. OH YEA…our meals are pretty awesome too 8D we get buffet BREAKFAST, LUNCH… AND… DINNER. How cool is that?! 8D Anywayssss… other than the food, we did some preparations for the next whole week (like practice SINGING @_@ and stuff) BUT in the end… the caroling was canceled.

And for those who dont know, we were supposed to go CAROLING at MPH, midvalley on tuesday (which is tomorrow) but it got canceled last minute. ToT I was actually looking forward to it. xD Anyway, the reason we’re going there is cos we’re helping advertise this girl’s FIRST ever published book (she’s only 13, mind you). And what makes this event so big is that she’s from the CWS (children’s wish society), which is basically an organization that helps granting childrens WISHES. And NO, we’re not talking about random children like our spoiled and annoying sibs and what not…..BUT……. its for terminally ill children. THAT MEANS, children who don’t have long to live. D8

And so… this is ONE of them.. her name’s Alicia Loh and this is her FIRST EVER published book. Its called The Last Chapter. and YES, she wrote it. So we’re going there tomorrow to be apart of one of her most exciting days ever, and im looking forward to it. ;D

OHOH, other than that, josh and cee had to do the Mississippi today! It can make a really good and humiliating punishment. >D Anyway, for some who might not know, its where you have to spell stuff using ur BUTT! yes, B-U-T-T, BUTT. xD (exp: spell MISSISSIPPI- u hv to move ur butt up and down (xD) to make it look like you’re forming the alphabet M… and so on) It was hilarious. xD And that was probably the highlight of my day. xD

Oh yea, and it was REEEEALLY cold at church today. D8 and i didn’t bring my jacket ToT. MUST remember to bring it 2moro. D<

ANyway yea, I can see this isnt really what you call a SHORT post, but yea. xD
